Empowering primary school children against bullying

One of the key objectives of Re A Bua Foundation is to eliminate bullying in schools.

From experience, it has become clear that children who are bullied are more likely to become victims of several kinds of abuse, because they learn not to trust anyone. Bullying silences them.

It is against this background that our Founder, Ms. Kemmy Mpinang, has authored and donated a book that sensitises children against bullying, encouraging them to be assertive and to tell someone early.

Today Ms. Mpinang donated **14 books at Boikhutso Primary School**, after yesterday's donation of another **14 books at Bophirima Primary School**.

The book, *Equal but Different: The Story of Maatla and Lefika*, tells a children's story that motivates them to be assertive against bullying and abusive behaviours that, in most cases, expose children to gender-based violence.

We wish to acknowledge that this donation was made possible by the kind support of **Servant Naledi-Ashia**, who funded the printing costs from the publisher.
