We decided to stop whispering

Re A Bua Foundation was founded in December 2025. We are six months old, and we have already learned the most important thing about this work: silence is the abuser's best friend, and we are its enemy.

Our emblem. The family we refuse to look away from.

Why we exist

We were created to advocate for victims and survivors of gender-based violence and to create a safe space for them, particularly minors. Botswana's hardest conversations (child molestation, child abuse, child rape, child exploitation) are the ones we were built to have out loud.

Mission

To advocate for and protect society's most vulnerable, particularly children and women, by fighting gender-based violence, promoting mental-health awareness, and providing resources to abuse survivors.

Vision

A safer, healthier, and more accountable Botswana where every child is protected, empowered, and given a chance to thrive free from abuse and marginalisation.

Who we serve

Primary and secondary students, orphans and vulnerable children, victims of abuse, survivors of GBV, tertiary learners, grieving and traumatised families, and grassroots villages and townships.

Governance & accountability

We ask institutions to be accountable, so we hold ourselves to the same standard. Our registration details, board membership and annual reports are published here as they are issued; as a foundation in its first year, our first annual report will cover 2026.

Safeguarding

Everything we do is safeguarding-first, because our beneficiaries are the people with the most to lose from careless handling:
